Simpleton To Host WPWT 870 AM "Good Morning Tri-Cities"

With little fanfare or platitudes spewing from the lips of WPWT management, Mark E. Simpleton began his stint as the new host of WPWT 870 AM "Good Morning Tri-Cities" this Wednesday, early in the morning of August 30, 2006. Unlike former GMTC host Timothy Hill, Simpleton appears ready to tackle international issues with all the thorough understanding demonstrated daily on WPWT by a neo-conservative from "that part" of Sullivan County.

No word as of yet if Simpleton knows how to scoop ice cream...

Palm Beach Post: Susan Gregory To Send Her Ride Revolution To Glue Factory By September

A motor racing news article pertaining to NHRA Sport Compact Series race driver Matt Scranton posted within this morning's edition (August 20, 2006) of the Palm Beach Post is reporting that the Bristol, Tennessee based Ride Revolution LLC owned by Susan K. Gregory (daughter of Leitner Pharmaceuticals CEO John M. Gregory and former contributor to the Matthew Hill 2004 campaign effort) "will be going out of business" by September 2006:

The NHRA's official report said the Atco final between Personett and Scranton "may be the quickest side-by-side race in Pro Rear Wheel Drive history." Scranton was quicker at 6.51 to Personett's 6.55, but Scranton red-lighted by .027 seconds.

Scranton joined the Sport Compact Series in its second season, 2002, after his Scranton Brothers Racing Mustang swept all 10 races in the 2001 National Muscle Car Association Super Street series.

Scranton's success continued in the Sport Compact Series as he went 10-for-10 and claimed the Pro V-8 title. He also became the first Sport Compact driver to break the 200 mph barrier, clocking 202.25 mph at Englishtown, N.J.

Scranton won the Rear Wheel Drive title in 2004 and finished third in 2005. This year, driving a Toyota Solara, he stands second behind Personett.

"We've got four races left," said Scranton, who needs wins to help attract a new sponsor to replace Ride Revolution, which is going out of business next month. "We went testing the other day and threw some good numbers up. We feel pretty confident that we're going to make a great effort at winning this championship."
Ride Revolution sells aftermarket automotive performance gear and accessories.

Ride Revolution has a retail store in Johnson City,Tennessee that featured a July 8, 2005 "Open House" event just a little over one year ago and also sponsored on-track "Street Legal Racing" at the Bristol Dragway:

Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) Dragway News just this past Friday (August 18, 2005) released the report "First Winner Of Cortney Hensley Memorial Scholarship Earns $2,000 Scholarship", naming Frankie Casteel of Jonesborough, Tennessee as the receipient. According to the BMS press release, the "...winner of the scholarship is chosen from a group of applicants by a special committee including school officials and a member of Hensley's family. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average, be active in the community, have three written recommendations and write an essay on the dangers of illegal street racing." Hensley was killed and her passenger severly injured while stopped a traffic in Johnson City during a fiery September 2005 car crash involving street racers in other vehicles.

Ride Revolution at one time sold a dvd by the title of "Midnight Street Racing"...

Sorry Jesus: Candidate David Davis Hires Timothy Hill Away From "Good Morning Tri-Cities" Calling

Rep. David Davis, Timothy Hill, WHCB, WPWT

Timothy Hill, host of WPWT 870 AM "Good Morning Tri-Cities" is announcing this morning (Friday, August 11) that "today" is his "last day" as the GMTC host --- it is now early into the broadcast, but it is safe to speculate that Timothy Hill will be working full-time on the general election campaign team to elect former Tennessee State Rep. David Davis as the next U.S. House of Representative for the Tennessee 1st Congressional District.

While Hill is annoucing that he that he will no longer be the GMTC host, he has not yet indicated if he will be actually quitting his employment with the 501(c)(3) tax exempt Appalachian Educational Communication Corporation (and the large paycheck that he receives from the Rev. Daddy Dr. Kenneth C. Hill) or merely taking a non-compensated leave of absence from AECC pending the outcome of the general election.

As earlier posted with this blog site, Timothy Hill is listed within FEC records as a generous contributor to the Davis campaign effort and is also using GMTC to promote Davis news releases, telephone calls, and other on-air Davis support prior to 2006 Republicam primary election...perhaps on his last broadcast day before the November elections, Timothy Hill will finally announce on GMTC that he made a $250.00 contribution to the Davis campaign.

Timothy Hill: We Support Our Armed Forces, General (We Just Don't Join 'Em)

I found a rather nice photo of WPWT 870 AM "Good Morning Tri-Cities" host and David Davis campaign staffer Timothy Hill (in this instance, the handshaking and green blouse wearing SEPR President Timothy Hill) in photograph with the following caption:

WE SUPPORT OUR ARMED FORCES
Gen. Hargett, Adjutant General of Tennessee, with SEPR President Timothy Hill.

Additional pictures of Timothy Hill with other regional GOP notables appear in what may appear to be within the interior of the House of Ribs restaurant...check it all out under photos. For a company pitching photographic services, Hill's SEPR site is using a whole lot of canned (pre-packaged software) clip art photos...

UPDATE August 17, 2001: The photos page of the SEPR web site has been removed.

WPWT Timothy Hill Babbles: TN GOPer Legislators Re-Electing House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh Under Direction Of Satan

WPWT 870 AM "Good Morning Tri-Cities" local talk show host Timothy Hill was commenting this morning (Monday, August 7, 2006) about Republican members of the Tennessee House who cross the aisle during the early session leadership meetings for the selection of a new House Speaker --- Timothy Hill blurted out the statement that:
"If you [as an elected Republican member of the Tennessee House] go to Nashville and compromise your [conservative] principles and vote Jimmy Naifeh [as your new House Speaker], you have [demonstrated that] Satan [is] sitting on your shoulder to influence your vote."

Not an exact word-to-word transcription, but the general theme was affirmed by another WPWT 870 AM monitor that I called up to verify the context of Timothy Hill's latest pseudo-religious rant. Hill soon thereafter backpeddled and attempted to soften his comments.

Timothy Hill also happens to be the brother of Tennessee State Representative Matthew Hill(R-H7) and is also actively working on the campaign team to elect Republican candidate Davd Davis for U.S. House Representative for the Tennessee 1st Congressional District.

Where's Waldo?: Rep. Matthew Hill's Non-Existing $3,285.00 2006 Campaign Web Site

I was checking through the Representative Matthew Hill online campaign finance disclosure information for the 2006 2nd Quarter when I ran across a fairly large expenditure of Mr. Accessible's 2006 re-election campaign web site:

INTELLITHOUGHT
125 BROAD STREET
KINGSPORT, TN 37660

05/21/2006 $3,285.00
FOR WEBSITE

However, a quick Google search fails to reveal any such web site for the re-election of Rep. Matthew Hill.

INTELLITHOUGHT is believed to owned by Appalachian Educational Communication Corporation board member Frank Waldo of Kingsport, Tennessee.

Rep. Matthew Hill's 2004 "Grassroots" Campaign My Ass...The 7th District Was "Home-Fooled"

Geeze, do you still remember how the 2004 7th House District candidate Matthew Hill went yammering on and on and on like a non-stop Weird Al record with his "grassroots campaign? And doesn't the term "grassroots" to most people more properly describe a "home grown" and "local" political movement --- but what about Hill campaign workers that he imported from the "McMinn, Meigs, Monroe county area"? In case you might have forgotten (sorry about dredging all that Matthew prattle up again), I found a quote for Hill's now defunct 2004 campaign web site that had been saved as a cache file on the internet:
Matthew Hill (www.matthewlistens.com - grassroots [2004])
Successful campaigns are dependent upon volunteers at the grassroots level. Without your help, we cannot win this election. Please take a minute to fill out the form below. A lot of people doing a few things each with a common goal is what will ensure our victory in this election. Thank you for your efforts and for taking the time to get involved.

Well, I checked-out some of Matthew Hill's 2004 so-called "grassroots" support team members --- and they read more like the phony "astroturf-roots" workers:
Legal Issues Relating to Homeschooling

Current Issues Relating to Homeschooling

We frequently get e-mails from Cory Bennet at SMHEA, other regional homeschool leaders, or from HSLDA. We will try to post them here for your reference, in case you did not receive them.

8/8/04 From Cory Bennet: Mike Bell is a member of the Tennessee Home Education Association Board of Directors and the President of the Mid-Southeast chapter of THEA located in the McMinn, Meigs, Monroe county area. Mike also is the homeschool lobbyist for THEA and works with the state legislature to defend our freedoms. THEA and SMHEA are 501 (c)(3) organizations limited by law in our ability to invest more than a small percentage of our efforts in anything that could be deemed political. Here is an opportunity to make a difference through an organization that is free to pursue political activities.

You can contact Mike at the address below.

Dear fellow home educators,

Bobbie Patray (Director of Tennessee Eagle Forum), called me today and told me she was going to be co-hosting the Steve Gill show on 99.7 WTN Tuesday morning from 5:30 to 9:00 central time. Steve is on vacation next week and Bobbie was asked to be one of host for Tuesday. She called me today and asked me to call in and do a segment with her and maybe take some calls on home schooling and the election. This could be fun. Please pray for me and Bobbie and listen if you can.

Now let me catch up on some business. Claiborne Thornton (president of the Tennessee Home Education Association) and I have started a PAC (Political Action Committee). The name of the PAC isThe Tennessee Home Education Family PAC. It's purpose is to be a vehicle for the home school community to endorse candidates and to organize home school families to work for friendly candidates. I am in the process of putting together a candidate survey. We will endorse candidates from how they answer this survey. We endorsed two candidates in the primary and both of them won! One of the races was expected to win and one was to tell you the truth a shock to me even though I worked in it. We endorsed Susan Lynn in the 57th district and Matthew Hill in the seventh district. Hill beat longtime incumbent Bob Patton. I made four trips to Johnson City. Nathan, my son, lived with Hill and his wife and worked twelve hours a day for the last two weeks of the campaign. On election day I took 6 students with me up there to work the polls. We beat Patton by less than 400 votes. Patton was one of Naifeh's republican stooges in the house. He voted for the income tax two years ago and if you remember Patton was the only republican to vote against the Woods amendment to equalize homeschoolers scores for the lottery scholarships. Hill is a twenty-five years old and new to the district he lives in. Hill, as far as I know, will be the first person who was home schooled to serve in the state legislature if he wins in November[sic].

The 7th district has traditionally voted republican. Now for the tough part. The PAC needs money to operate. So far we have spent very little money. What money we have spent has come out of my pocket. I have bought the kids food who have worked with me and the time I had in Hill's race. But in the next week I need to mail out surveys to all the candidates and we need to have a web site built. I think I am going to be able to get some seed money this weekend that will cover those cost but we will need more. If any of you could help with this or know someone who would want to help fund a conservative PAC let me know.

Sincerely, Mike Bell

Rep. Hill is also --- as far as I know from having regularly listening to him on "Good Morning Tri-Cities" --- the first self-admitting "special ed math student" to serve in the legislature...

Bobbie Patray, volunteer lobbyist for the Eagle Forum, said she and others will try to sway senators against a lottery.

"We don't think it's good government policy. It expands government when government gets into the gambling business.

"States that fashion their lotteries like the Hope scholarships in Georgia are finding that the money coming in is not enough to fund the scholarships and they have to come up with other money to fund them," Patray said.

"And there is an explosion of gambling among teens, and lotteries seem to be the gateway to gambling for teens. When teenagers are becoming addicted to gambling at twice to four times the rate of adults, that should give us pause to think before we put a gambling outlet on every street corner."

6th Dist. Candidate Dale Ford: TDOT Three Year Plan Excludes Washington County Projects

6th District House candidate Dale Ford ran a page 2 political ad within today's (August 1, 2006) edition of the Johnson City Press with the following statement:

"We are not getting our fair share of state funds! I'll see we do." - Dale Ford
* Example: the Department of Transportation's three year construction plan, recently released, does not have any money for projects in Washington County, I'll see we get our fair share.

At first blush, I tend to view this ad as just another rant from just one of many 6th district loonies running for the Tennessee state house, but this information (if factual) could pose some re-election campaign problems for area State Reps. David Davis, Matthew Hill, and Jerome Cochran (Carter County) who are current members of the House Transportation committee and are all running elections back home as "effective legislators"...
