6th Dist. Candidate Dale Ford: TDOT Three Year Plan Excludes Washington County Projects

6th District House candidate Dale Ford ran a page 2 political ad within today's (August 1, 2006) edition of the Johnson City Press with the following statement:

"We are not getting our fair share of state funds! I'll see we do." - Dale Ford
* Example: the Department of Transportation's three year construction plan, recently released, does not have any money for projects in Washington County, I'll see we get our fair share.

At first blush, I tend to view this ad as just another rant from just one of many 6th district loonies running for the Tennessee state house, but this information (if factual) could pose some re-election campaign problems for area State Reps. David Davis, Matthew Hill, and Jerome Cochran (Carter County) who are current members of the House Transportation committee and are all running elections back home as "effective legislators"...

I have heard, from prominent Republicans in Washington County, that this is a major reason why so many people are backing Fred Phillips over Matthew Hill. That's not my agenda either, just other people being honest about a lack of results.

Ford doesn't have to worry about Cochran anymore. I am also glad that Patti Jarret, who had a quote from Robert E. Lee on her Web site, didn't win. Yesterday was a pretty good day overall, from my perspective.

Looks likes the campaign endorsements of Tennessee Right To Life were over-inflated...perhaps this trend will continue within the November election results for both Davis and Hill.
