Rep. Matthew Hill (R-Jonesborough) announced today that local veterans have established the Veterans for Hill Committee supporting his candidacy for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives.

“We all believe in Matthew and his ability to get things done for the people of Washington County,” said George A. Morelock, chairman of the committee. “Matthew has worked nonstop during his two years in Nashville to make sure that he responds to the needs of the people he represents.”

“I am honored to have such a fine group of people standing behind me,” Rep. Hill said. “I have a deep respect for anyone who has served this country in the armed forces, and I am proud to have the chance to do what I can to serve these veterans as a legislator.”

Rep. Hill represents the 7th House District, which includes a portion of Washington County. He is a member of the House Republican Caucus Whip Leadership Team and sits on the House Committee on Children and Family Affairs and the House Transportation Committee. Rep. Hill resides in Jonesborough where he works in radio broadcasting.

For a shameless incumbent who questioned the honesty of his challenger Fred Phillips during a recent debate in Johnson City, I can only taunt "liar, liar, liar, pants on fire" or may better that should be "liars, liars, liars" if the Hill campaign team is behind distorting this election misinformation!
