AMENDMENT #2 provides that on July 1, 2006, and each July 1 thereafter, the minimum retirement allowance provided under present law for general assembly members would be adjusted pursuant to the cost-of-living provisions of present law until the person has been retired for 12 months on July 1 next following December 31 as of which the adjustment is determined. The first adjustment would occur on November 7, 2006, for persons who are in service on the effective date of this bill.

In 2004, the TNGA voted to automatically tie the legislative pay received by members of the Tennessee General Assembly with any enacted legislation giving Tennessee state employees a pay raise --- be sure to ask Rep.
